Kitchen Island
I love to cook, and when I moved into my home, the existing island just wasn’t going to cut it. We needed a big, flat surface with the cooktop built in so that we could have room to make dinner.
Lots of Storage
The first requirement was that this island would need lots of storage. There are four large cabinets with adjustable shelves on onside, and a bank of drawers on the other. Our entire kitchen fits in here.
Matching Profiles
The second requirement was that the doors and drawers match the profile of the existing cabinetry.
Make the Grain Pop
Finally, as a woodworker, I wanted the woodgrain to be the highlight. I love dark walnut for that very reason. The swirl and texture of the wood is mesmerizing.
